The project relies at first on promoting the musical sensibility of the children who attend the creche La Souris Verte in Strasbourg. The european volunteer introduces the children to childrens' rhymes and to traditional counting-out rhymes of his home country. He performs traditional songs and brings them into contact with different instruments which they can play themselves (flute, small drums, castanets, small bells) to experiment different sounds and rythms. The aim is that the children become actors of that muscial moment and dance and sing with the volunteer in her/his language, that they do handicrafts or cook with her/him, according to the seasons or special occasions. So they can explore all the facettes of her/his culture. Depending on the capabilities according to the childrens' age, the volunteer should also teach small dances to the played songs. The goal is that the children get to know their body and are able to repeat small dancing movements. Furthermore, the project allows the volonteer to gather a first experience in the field of childcare and discover a different culture by participating at the everyday life of the creche. The voluntary services lasts 11 months, which allows the volunteer to become well integrated with the team and in Strasbourg.
