The "Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Evros and Smolyan through Alternative Tourism" project is the tangible expression of the ambition of the two partners to make Evros and Smolyan tourism attractions equivalent to their beauty and cultural heritage. In this direction the overall objective of the project is to protect and promote cultural assets and create cultural cooperation in the cross-border area, within the framework of the implementation of the proposed activities. Expected Results: The proposed project, through the implementation of the foreseen activities, is expected to promote cultural tourism and create cultural cooperation in the cross-border area. Other results of the project will be the following: 1) Enhancement of intercultural dialogue between the participating countries, 2) Creation of a network of collaboration between the partners, 3) Exchange of experience, best practices and expertise between the partners, 4) Mobilisation of local stakeholders and involvement in the activities, 5) Familiarization of the citizens of each participating country with the culture of the other country, through their participation in the promotional tours, 6) Promotion of the cultural sites of Evros and Smolyan, through the organization of the promotional tours, 7) Enhancement of the skills of professionals working in the cultural tourism sector, through their participation in the training seminars.
