"Romania seen through your camera"
Start date: Jul 1, 2011,
Lately Romania had serious image problem in many EU countries. This negative impact caused prejudices and stereotypes about our country, about our culture and about Romanian citizens. In our opinion the lack of information and of opportunities to discover the Romania reality, individually, made them to judge us in the wrong way. That's why Support for Youth Development Association is organizing a multilateral youth exchange called "Romania seen trough your camera" to be held from 25th of August to 3rd of September 2011 in Romania. The project is based on the "European awareness", "culture and art" and "media & communications / informing youth" topics and its main objective is to involve 30 young people (18-25 years old) from 6 European countries in activities which will combine non-formal education with youth exchange, in order to give them the opportunity to discover our country beyond prejudices and stereotypes. Also, the project aims at building a bridge between cultures from Europe, with their different cultures and traditions, but which all together make the European kaleidoscope. The project will be held in six locations in both rural and urban area, an environment which will allow the participants use their abilities and knowledge to the maximum. Those 30 lucky people that will attend this 8 days experience are from Romania, Italia, Poland, France, Portugal and Latvia. And trust us when we say this is not the last time you'll hear about us.
