Description
Developing "human-centric" technology for industrial robots
Robots for industrial production still need a lot of skilled engineering effort for installation, setup and programming. They also require closed-ended environments, with physical protection devices to separate them from human workers. The ROSETTA project develops a new generation of robot controller technology for dual-arm industrial robots that will work together with humans. The controller will execute complex tasks with a high degree of autonomy, because it has network access to a knowledge repository in which the collective experience of human robot programmers, production process engineers, and previous sensor-based robot task executions, is collected and made accessible. The expected project results are a new paradigm for engineering & instructing of robots and new sensing, control and decision making methods for safe physical human-robot co-operation.
