a ismulation game of European Parliament. The main aim of MEP is to increase the awareness of young people aged 15-19 about European Parliament and how democracy functions. We also aim to grow active citizens who, when adults, will become active members of the society. Young people will also pracitce debating skills, working as a team and public speaking. MEP 2009 will take place in Tallinn, 30th Jan - 2nd Feb. Day 1 - team-building activities, meeting with the experts and the project's patron Tunne Kelam. Day 2 and 3 - committee work at School No 21 in Tallinn. There will be 5 committees for new students and 1 committe for students who have already participated in MEP before. The latter is a new thing which we have not had before. Each committe will consist of appr. 15 members and 2 committee presidents. Each committe will reach a resolution on a topic they have been given. Day 4 - General Assembly takes place in the Riigikogu. Each committee will have to defend their resolution. There will be defence speeches, against speeches, open debate and finally each resolution wil be voted upon. The resolutions will be later discussed with the experts and will be given to the patron and supporters of MEP.
