Ride Your Way 2
Start date: May 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The MAIN PROBLEM addressed by this project is lack of social interaction and healthy life style of young people.Through our experience in creating local events, we came to conclusion that many of young people are inactive in social life and don't take an active part in community. They are using too much ICT tools and spend time indoor so they are also physically inactive. That led to research we carried out in July 2015. “Pozitiva na otvorenom”, which showed that NEEDS of young people are more contents in which they can participate and express themselves. They are creative and have ideas but don't have the initiative, knowledge and support for their implementation. As consequence, young people are not developing social skills, self-esteem and team work which leads to their lack of key competences. Our MAIN GOAL is to include physically and socially inactive young people into activities which will address their need for healthier social lifestyle, by opening the limits of their comfort zone and including them in experiential learning through outdoor physical activities and sports. Specific goals are:- To develop social and teamwork skills of participants- To promote healthy lifestyle and outdoor activities - To share experiences / good practice in project topic among participants & partner organizations; - To motivate and empower the partner organization to organize youth events- To share history and culture of participating countries - To support mobility / mutual cooperation among European youth and promotion of European values; Our TARGET GROUP are socially inactive young people in local communities where our project partners come form, with particular focus on young people with fewer opportunities (geographic, social and economic).Through workshops and experiential learning designed to combine knowledge gained from presentations, discussions and group work participants will put their skills into practical use. Non-formal education workshops will include topics like outdoor safety, learning about bicycle repairs, promotion, dissemination and creating event, as well as sharing history and cultures, which will contribute to achieving following specific objectives of this project: promoting healthy lifestyle and outdoor activities, sharing history and culture of participating countries as well as motivating and empowering the partner organization to organize youth events. Our project is KA1-Learning Mobility of Individuals - Youth Exchanges, Samobor from 04.06.-13.06.2016. Countries involved: Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland and Croatia. Each country will be represented with 5 participants and 1 group leader, in total 36 participants, 6 group leaders and 4 staff members The result of our exchange will be one short motivation video that promotes and encourages healthy lifestyle, social inclusion and physical activities among young people. Participating organisations will use the video as one of the tools in their presentations/workshops with young people and we will encourage them to make their own activities related to project and share it further. The impact on the target group will be achieved through our dissemination method “Pozitiva na otvorenom”. We plan to implement it for the first time in Erasmus project as we had a good feedback in some local actions so far. All participating organisations will promote the results of the project among target group in their local communities. We expect more young people from our target group will be motivated to have a healthy lifestyle, be sustainable by using bicycles as transport, understand cultural diversity of Europe and be active citizens.Participating organisations will gain experience in organizing festival like ours, make contact with stakeholders, make local community involved, network with partners. We will focus on promotion and visibility which NGO’s often doesn’t pay attention as much as they should. They will learn how with no budget and little resources they can make very good and creative visibility actions to promote their work/events.We expect long term benefit from networking with organizations who are working in areas of youth and healthy lifestiyle. This network will promote youth events like cycle and urban cultue events, projects; assist in finding partners or users of this kind of project. It will serve as international help in promoting / developing healthy lifestyles by using bicycle and other outdoor activities.
