The objectives of the partnership includes developing a positive ethos in school where pupils are mutually supportive of each other, where all members of the school community have a right to a safe and peaceful school an everyone takes an active responsibility to contribute to the creation of a positive environment. In order to implement the European Charter for Democratic Schools without Violence , we need to increase the amount of parental involvement and also make parents aware of students’ and children’s rights. We also hope that, by creating a common understanding about violence and bullying amongst students, parents and staff, we will open up a dialogue so that the school community will all learn new conflict resolution techniques. This will prevent violence and bullying and also encourage parents to be more involved in their children’s education. Our concrete objectives were:- Increase safety in the local community- Reduce isolation and promote networks between parents- Reduce drug and alcohol use and abuse among adults and children- Reduce truancy - Increase parental involvement in children’s education and wellbeing- Eliminate divisive thinking, “us” and “them”
