« Stay plugged in and let go II » is the renewal of the « Stay plugged in and let go » project which started in 2014 and ends in June 2016.Two schools came to join the consortium in 2015 following the withdrawal of a participating school, 2 others showed interest in joining in within the Erasmus+2016 Call for applications.So, 7 Secondary vocational schools joined efforts within a consortium with the CCG to focus on a training programme in “assistant electrician – electricity- automation, mechanic - automation”, Industry sector. They will have 105 students participating in the project with the guidance of training professionals (3 week internship in various European countries: Spain/France/Portugal/Malte). Young beneficiaries are in their last year of (3rd degree) vocational education, which is the last step in their initial vocational training.Automation Electricians can be found in businesses whose production falls within the scope of multi-technological equipment comprising a large part of power electronics and / or automated equipment. They are also represented in service companies oriented towards multi-technological maintenance. Thus there’s a wide range of activities. Automation mechanics, for their part, can be found in all sorts of industrial or other activities. They are in charge of manufacturing and/ or installation on site. Based on documents and / or technical instructions, they also care for mounting, dismounting, adjusting, reconditioning, installing units and subassemblies, which can be automated and are made up of mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic components. Those elements are set in a multi-technological (electric, electronic, control…) structure. They make sure the tool keeps working.As to assistant electricians, they respect hygiene and safety rules, ensure quality, install (domestic) equipment, and so on.The Consortium, which will be supported by the Mobility Department until the end of the project, chose the expected learning goals students should reach during their internship abroad through a common evaluation grid.Together the partners set accurate goals for the internship as well as their evaluation thanks to preliminary meetings between sending partners. Former (2014 call) or future (2016 call) preparatory visits aimed / will aim at finalizing the students’ internship. Some partners were selected following contact seminars in which the Mobility Department of the CCG took part. Others were already acquainted with sending partners and the CCG. Sending partners will be in charge of the students’ preparation. The internship will be facilitated by the presence of coaches sent by the sending partners. Those will connection trainees together with the host partner. They will be responsible for internship evaluation as well as the assessment of the learning outcome (on the basis of previously drawn documents). They will also integrate the results in every beneficiary’s curriculum. Both the intermediate and the final report will be written under the guidance of the Mobility Department. The results of this consortium will be integrated in all the actions supported by the Mobility Department and communicated by the CCG- DGEO to national authorities.Through this project students will be able to acquire specific work-related skills abroad, have them validated over there and have their validation integrated in the usual Belgian curriculum (knowledge and know-how acquisition). As part of a team speaking a foreign language (as it is the case for 6 out of the 7 schools) students will approach another language than French in order to give their training a European dimension.For both sending and host partners this project will promote exchange among Europeans engaged in the same training sector as well as exchange on a modular system of certification, targeted on one or more learning outcomes. This comes in the general context of the progressive phasing-in of qualification units in the French Speaking Community of Belgium and of the Ecvet system in the European Union.This project will focus on the need to sustainably integrate the European Mobility dimension in the last part of initial vocational training and will increase awareness about the introduction of the Ecvet system.
