The idea of the project is to facilitate the interactions between the citizens in the continental part of Croatia and the cross-border area with Hungary; to preserve cultural heritage in cross-border area with Hungary and to present the uniqueness of Croatias and Hungarys history and tradition, increase tourism activities in the border region. The partner cities present their cultural, traditional and tourist offer during events organized in Čakovec and Nagykanizsa, and a Croatian week in Nagykanizsa will be organized in order to preserve and present cultural and traditional activities of the Croatian minority living in Zala County Achievements: The two biggest urban centres in the border areas of Međimurje and Zala counties established cultural co-operation through several events, including carnival food festivals, dance performances and joint art exhibitions. The cultural exchange serves as a foundation for further and closer relationships within the two participating communities in the future and for the raising of the cultural tourism potential of the region as a whole. Four-language concepts for joint tourism products were also developed within the project.
