Renewable and sustainable energy production in France and in Sweden.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our school is situated in an agricultural and small Industrial Business Area with a general low level of education. The unemployment among youngsters is generally high. They are at risk of social exclusion. Our municipality has had an ecological profile for many years. We are a part of and involved in a national Programme for a Sustainable Municipality. A project like this gives the paticipants a greater opportunity to avoid such negative consequences and the outcomes of the project will also give our school a better position to give more students the requirements needed. We will send 14 of our students at the Programme for electricity and energy in two flows, 8 in the first flow and 6 in the second flow. The project will prepare the students for the future energy systems in Sweden and Europe and differences from our way of working when it concerns electric installations, renewable and sustainable energies. The objectives of the course will treat the following central contents: To understand the importance of an effective use of energy. The pupils learn through study visits and practice in companies so they can draw conclusions of their own by comparing France and Sweden and the various conditions that exist. Renewable sources of energy: sun, wind, waves, heating pump, energy gases, biofuels and alternative fuels for vehicles. Comparisons between the two countries when it comes to development planned and present existence and possibly directed national efforts. Through the project the students will accomplish a deeper understanding of how the use of energy within the European Union, especially France and Sweden is used. Safety is of utmost importance to work in different professional fields. Training should therefore lead the pupils to become familiar with national and international agreements on technology, information security, standards, occupational safety and health and safety. In professional life, students will meet various kinds of people and assume that a professional job is performed, often in collaboration with other professionals. Training should therefore develop students' ability to work with others, deal with customers, provide service and to proficiently perform work at both companies and in people's homes. This helps to increase employability for our students and strenghten the quality of education at our school, goals for the EU, our nation and our school. The project will be a good marketing of the Programme for electricity and energy which will lead to an increased number of students. It will also lead to increased competence for the participants of the project. Steps which are included in the practical exchange are management, mounting, measuring, and simpler maintenance of energy-technological equipment. At the places of practical training the students are trained in the above mentioned. Particular emphasis is put on the particular differences of the region. Security regulations within the field of energy are studied by the pupils studying the possible differences of the regulations. Other important steps that will be studied are the use and maintenance of equipment and tools. The pupils are trained to safely maintain various equipment and to study various special tools that are used in both countries. Basic knowledge in security thinking and professional code of ethics is important for all of the professional aspects of the programme. Also here the differences between France and Sweden are studied. Laws and other conditions that govern installations and mounting will also be studied.
