Regional Innovative Policies to reinforce the Retail Sector

The main goal of the project is to improve regional policy across Med area in retail sector innovation, promoting an effective improvement of knowledge among partners and designing innovative tools for SME retail sector. Implementation of the project: creation of a knowledge network to integrate all partners sharing their knowledge and expertise, creating a collaborative environment in retail sector. REINPO RETAIL acts as a testing laboratory for innovative actions promoting competitiveness. Achievements: State of the art of project implementation since the project startThe Virtual Platform, which is at the moment completed, is being maintained by PP. It has been presented to stakeholders and will be presented at European level in 2013, coinciding with the Final Event of the project. The Platform is a 2.0 network where innovative agents can communicate, share projects and experiences, look for partners or technology and innovation. A Network of Innovative Agents in retail sector, a Good Practice Guide (done), an Innovation Map in retail, and an Innovation Guide are being elaborated and will be basis for the future elaboration of a Green Paper in Retail. PP have completed their pilot projects. Their results are being monitored by the UIP for the future capitalization of results among stakeholders at local, regional, national and European levels, which so far has been conducted by PP through the organization local dissemination and awareness events and will be completed during the Final Event and International Seminar in Brussels in 2013.Latest project activities and outputsPP have concluded the creation and programming of the Reinpo Retail Virtual Platform, which has included the selection of Innovative Agents and Good Practices in retail from their territories (10 innovative agents/ partner, 1 Good Practice Guide with 10 good practices in retail from all territories involved). The CCI Heraklion has on the elaboration of a SWOT analysis in Innovation in Retail, deriving from all the local and regional studies provided by PP, which is the previous stage to the Innovation Map in Retail. Pilot projects have been concluded and are being monitored by the UIP for the transfers of innovation and project results to stakeholders at regional level. Al PP have participated in the 3rd SC in Drama in May 2012 and have organized promotional and awareness events at local/regional level and are working on the organization and involvement of stakeholders and EU institutions and key actors from all countries for the Final Event in 2013 in Brussels.Next key steps for the projectIn October 9th - 10th 2012, the 4th SC will be held in Brussels and the REINPO RETAIL project will participate in the OPEN DAYS. In January 2013, the Final Event of the project will take place in Brussels if a 2nd extension is approved. If not, it will take place in Castellón. In both cases, the Virtual Platform will be officially presented to local, regional and European actors as well as the main output of the project: the Green Paper, which will be presented to the European Commission.
