RECYCLED THEATRE
Start date: Aug 1, 2012,
"Recycled theatre" is a project to be realized in Kragujevac (SRB) which, asking for youth participation, would like to underline and help improving the conditions of groups of elders long-term unemployed and refugees/displaced persons living in Kragujevac, realizing activities which are in line with the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations. The participants' groups (40 persons, including group leaders) will work for 8 days - using theatre methodologies - to collaborate in realizing, with recycled materials collected from and donated by local factories, an open air theatre space in a public park now managed by a group of (elder adults) long-term unemployed supported by the Kragujevac Centre for Social Work. This open theatre space'll be realized together with them, collecting recycled materials that the factories in Kragujevac throw away (plastics, metals, woods and stones) and making them fit to the new chosen location in the park. At the same time the group, during the exchange and after a preparation at home, will realize theatre shows in the collective centre for refugees and displaced persons, in order to involve them, too. A final performance open to public and to Local Authorites'll inaugurate the new open air theatre which'll be donated to the group of elder unemployed for its further management. All activities'll be promoted through radio, TV stations and e-media. The project foresees a dissemination phase with 1 event to be realized at home + 1 photo exposition about what realized. The group'll be hosted in a hotel in Kragujevac with room for workshops and meetings. The project is promoted by KG Youth Sector as applicant and hosting organization together with the organizations EquaMente (Italy), Desnek (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Vija (Lithuania), Eye (FYROM), EEC (Croatia), YPCSD (Romania) and KUD PLAC (Slovenia) as sending organizations. An APV of 2 days is planned, too, for group leaders + 1 participant per each organization.
