To foster the feeling of belonging to a common region, the RECIT project encourages local associations to organise networking activities for new cross-border initiatives.The partners also want to present a positive image of the four territories to the population and stimulate participatory democracy by involving the cross-border associations in a number of themes. Achievements: Action 1:- organisation of some fifteen cross-border days (themes: handicap, citizenship, discrimination, young people and employment, etc.);- 1,300 participants.Action 2:- organisation of some twenty regards croisés (converging views) days (themes: neighbourhood memory, discovering the neighbours territory, ...);- 1,500 participants.Action 3:- organisation of social events, such as the FechtiWal (2 editions) – a cross-border festival to show the citizens of both regions the commitment of the European Union to the promotion of a territory without borders.Action 4:To highlight the project achievements, the partners used and/or created websites:- www.fechtiwal.eu;- www.mpa80.be;- www.routedesassociations.eu;- www.mda-roubaix.org;- www.mda-tourcoing.fr.
