The project involves the participation of 12 teachers working at Middle School No. 1 in Chorzow in the training course "Reaching, teaching and keeping learners” in the field to learn new methods and solutions used in teaching and educational work with special emphasis of working students with fewer opportunities and abilities, and achieving lower academic performance. Educational staff is composed of 29 teachers from diverse professional experience, specialized in different fields of science and educator, psychologist, librarian and director of the school. One of the main objectives of the project involves the acquisition and implementation by teachers in the educational practice, a new high-quality level of knowledge and skills in working with youth experiencing school failure, threatened resignation of education, reluctantly participating in mandatory classes and often passive in relation to the own life, not paying attention to the knowledge and development of interests, and possessed strengths and personality traits. Our students come from environments that require educational and social support. As a result of experienced by the families of students of unemployment, addictions and poverty as a school we are trying to counter the risk of social exclusion. Methods, which encourage our students to learn which is the key to dealing with the family situation and the development of a proactive approach to their life, is using new activation methods of work in teaching, involving young people for active attitude towards their own education and development. The use of new solutions for forms and methods of teaching and educational work with young people during classes and extracurricular activities, implementation of project activities (educational projects, international projects eTwinning) requires updating current knowledge, and above all, the acquisition of new skills. Satisfying the training needs and expectations of teachers will help to increase the efficiency and attractiveness of teaching, effectiveness to motivate students to continuous learning process, as well as to improve the quality of school work and functioning of the local environment. The possibility of direct contact with teachers from other European countries allow the exchange of professional experience, knowledge of the forms and methods of work with children and youth and will provide inspiration to the implementation of new solutions and openness in professional action. Implementation and organization of the project has been carefully planned. Different actions in the initial stage of the project included the examination of the training needs of teaching stuff, along with taking into consideration the school environment, the search for a partner, establishing cooperation with the Icelandic training company dedicated to teacher training. As part of the preparation of the project will be carried out recruitment, organized linguistic, thematic and cultural preparation and teachers will be provided logistical and organizational support. With participants will be signed training contracts. Icelandic side in spite of conducting the course of the highest quality, will provide assistance in terms of accommodation and the implementation of cultural and social program. With partner will also be signed an agreement to conduct the course "Reaching, teaching and keeping learners" with the arrangements for the responsibilities, financial provisions, managing difficult situations. Both parties will be involved in monitoring the progress of the project, the implementation of the work plan and the progress of the participants and conducting the assessment and evaluation of the project at every stage of its duration. In co-operation will be carried out validation and recognition of learning outcomes with the use of the document "Europass Mobility" and a certificate of course completion. The results of the participation of teachers in international mobility will primarily be new skills and high-quality knowledge, methods and forms of work with students ready to implement in your daily professional practice, individual and group work with young people, among others, during classes, extracurricular activities, implementation of educational projects. The project will have an impact not only on the teachers who participated in the training, but also on the entire teaching staff in connection with the carrying out of workshops and team implementation of new jointly developed methods in educational work of the school and modification of educational program. Activities to disseminate the results of the training will enable the transfer of new knowledge and methods of work to teachers from Chorzów schools.The expected long-term benefit of the project is to increase the effectiveness of teaching, effectiveness to motivate students to active learning and increase the quality of work of the school and its internationalization.
