“Re-EnACT - Empowerment through Nature, Authentic Communication & Theatre” training course aimed at developing the competences of youth workers to engage and empower the young people they work with to become responsible citizens through enhanced communication skills, conflict resolution techniques, entrepreneurial thinking and active participation in their lives, work and communities.
There is a huge need for young people to feel more empowered, to realise their dreams, to turn their ideas into actions and to play an active part in the life of their communities and society. Youth workers, volunteers and trainers need more creative and innovative methods and effective techniques to engage young people more actively. Therefore with this training course we sought to address the need of empowering young people through engaging them with effective non-formal and informal learning methods. We introduced different activities to address and develop competences on issues such as communication skills, conflict resolution and effective team-work while also working with nature based tools for personal development and empowerment. During the training course we introduced participants to non-formal and informal educational tools giving special attention to outdoor training elements and theatrical methods. The training course we sought to improve the level of key competences and skills of youth workers, such as sense of initiative and entrepreneurship thinking, in order to improve the quality of their work and the activities they organise, and to reach further into the european dimension of youth work.
Upon completion of this training course, our participants were more motivated to participate more actively in their organisations, and develop more projects with and for young people while using the different innovative & effective methods learned at ReEnact. The Training course was based on an interactive and participative approach. The processes of learning from each other and learning by doing was crucial for stimulating creativity, kicking starting communication and active participation in sharing experiences and giving ideas and view points in discussions. The venue place of the project was in The East Clare Golf village, County Clare, Ireland, where 24 participants and 4 trainers/facilitators/experts/logistic assistants from the following countries: Armenia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Portugal, Turkey, UK and Ireland met from the 3rd to 9th April.
