Ranum Efterskole (residential school) values diversity. The school's core value is that each student with its unique resources must learn how to navigate in a complex and changing world. Ranum Efterskole's students visit partner schools around the globe every year, and groups of students from the partner schools visit Ranum Efterskole throughout the year. Such exchanges requires a high level of intercultural competence for all school staff. It is therefore of the highest priority that the school's staff participate in in-service training courses that takes place in an international environment with teachers from several European countries. The school offers a wide range of IGCSE subjects, which requires a great insight and understanding of course content and high vocabulary, since all teaching is in English - CLIL. In other subjects the language is bilingual, so that students acquire vocabulary in both Danish and English. The school staff are all excellent teachers with great pedagogical and didactic knowledge, so the focus of the in-service training is focused on curriculum, language skills and the European dimension. The participation of teachers from several countries in Europe gives a European dimension to the subjects, and it is a requirement from management that teachers as part of the course, find European teachers that are interested in online cooperation with Danish students age 15-17.
