Quid pro quo
Start date: Feb 1, 2015,
End date: May 31, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
As the name itself suggests, 'Quid pro quo', which would translate as 'something for something' , implies to the exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences. It has developed from the need and the desire of both participating partners to have a more intensive outlook into the work of each other. We cooperated as partners in 3 different international projects already - 2 international youth exchanges and 1 training course. Our wish and need is to make stronger cooperation on different areas, especially on field of "know how" and good practices.
The project includes ten youth workers from each country who bring the addition value to the project by sharing their own experiences which vary from very experienced to beginer.
We are driven by the desire to organise inclusive projects that already exist in the partner country and that have successfully taken place for many years now.
Partners from Slovenia want to deepen the knowledge and the skills in the field of inclusion through sports whereas the Finnish partners want to organise an inclusive event with a wider topic, not only focusing on sports.
The methodology used will be both formal and informal in its nature; in the first activity that will take place in April 2015 in Finland, the Finnish partners will enable us to have an overview of their successful, almost 20-year long work in the field of inclusion through sports.
On the second part of the activity, when the Finnish will visit partners from Slovenia (May 2015) the participants will be introduced to all the agents, included in such organisation and besides offering the theoretical background, also providing them with the chance to organise their own inclusive activity.
The desired results is a successful realisation of a similar event that has already been taking place in the partner country, in our own country.
The long term effect remains the same - despite the fact that the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities has been increasing with time, they are still often faced with situations when their needs are not met and when they lack equal opportunities.
Many of them remain excluded due to the unsorted family backgrounds, addictions (drugs, alcohol etc), special needs and other reasons that they may not have influence on. We strive towards greater and more successful inclusion in the society, by using sports and other inclusive tools.
