The increasing internationalization of work contexts can be seen as a phenomena of European integration. It becomes most apparent in urban multicultural spaces. This entails the growing importance of internationally oriented qualifications that challenge classical occupational fields and respond to new professional horizons.
On one hand, the project "Qualifications across Europe" tries to bridge the gap between vocational education and professional reality by encouraging the acquisition of competences such as multilingualism, critical awareness of prejudices and intercultural sensitivity. Thus established as well as future professionals increase the quality of their services and thereby preserve or raise their employability.
On the other hand, the project aims at using the potential of a strongly interconnected Europe by the mutual transfer of knowledge and professional exchange in order to obtain a quality improvement of educational services. It therefore contributes strategically to the modernization of VET institutions.
The target audiences of this project are staff at educational institutions as well as learners and graduates of vocational training and re-training in the areas of health & care and management of health and care institutions who move in multicultural settings. One hundred participants in total will have the possibility to participate in a theme-centered job shadowing in educational institutions or companies or in a working experience in a European country.
In order to ensure the best possible learning results, Vividus arranges, in cooperation with it's partners, a learning experience which responds to specific needs of the participants and accompanies the experience from the beginning until the end.
As the targeted areas of this project have a particular social character and include interaction with a broad spectrum of social groups, the multiplying effect is very high and promises a long-term and broad impact of the project. Established and future professionals
enrich the socially oriented health occupations tremendously through their acquired competences. Therefore they contribute to the social cohesion across cultural boundaries. The learning experience of the educational staff serves as a motor for the internationalization of training courses and educational institutions which represents a considerable quality improvement for vocational education.
