PU:NC Participants United New Citizens
Start date: Jan 1, 2013,

In the project PU:NC (Participants united: new citizens) 6 young participants from County Limerick Youth Theatre (south-west Ireland) and 6 from Loimaa theatre (south-west Finland) participate in a trans national youth intiative in 2013 in both Ireland and Finland. The objective in this international project is to explore the differences between young people in 70's century and youngsters today and get the answer to a question ''Why don't young people want to effect the things that effect them and be active?'' In the project both of the groups explore the theme through articles, documents, and other material about the PUNK -scene in their own countries. Based on the material they start to create a storyline and improvised scenes in order to create a drama workshop and a short play based on the punk-theme. The play is used as a part of workshops at schools in both coutries.First meeting with the whole group is in Ireland in June 2013. During 6 days the participants plan and arrange workshops in local schools and collect feedback from pupils in order to get their answers to the main question. In the second meeting soon after this in August 2013 the action will take place in Finland, at Loimaa; workshops in local schools and for the youth council, flash mob etc. In the final seminar the participants will give an answer to the main question in a form of a show of work .The feedback and report will be sent in September 2013.
