Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Educational leadership, European Institutions, Educators and Students share the same anticipation that Education and Technology will be keeping up in the following years in an ambitious plan of producing high quality educational results, lifelong education, equal opportunities in education and trainees and students capable of making the most of endless Technology possibilities through a critical and creative perspective. Teachers take up their own responsibility to contribute to this plan developing high quality digital skills, abandoning teaching methods and practices they have trusted in the past, creating an educational environment of active learning for their students, compatible with the new data and needs. All this makes it imperative for teachers to invest on ongoing re-educating and re-training and exploit more flexible teaching methods which respond more effectively to the way modern students learn. The present application consists in a mobility plan for school education staff. The applicant institution is the 1st EPAL in Karpenissi and the suggested project aims at training teaching staff through the attendance of a structured course in .Teachers of 1st EPAL Karpenisiou, well qualified with computer skills and knowledge of the English language will participate in the project. Another criterion of their selection is their experience in collaborative educational projects in the past , their belief in the internationalization of education and their strong motivation to work for the reinforcement of the institution's European Identity to their student’s benefit. The teaching methodology of the project is a combination of theoretical (comparative analysis of current trends in ICT implementation in education, plagiarism) and practical education (hands-on training) in creating their own educational material in digital form, work with smart boards, use mobile devices to support the educational process, workshops on e-learning platforms and familiarisation with best practices in the field.Scheduled activities will also include visits to bearers who have already successfully implemented e-learning environments to see the practical application of these tools.Once the course is completed participants and the sending organisation will put into practice their dissemination plan, with escalating actions in the school Institution expanding to the whole local school community, in cooperation with the local authorities. (Publications in the local press, posting in the Internet, workshop)The expected plan results are firstly, that the participating educators will improve their digital competence, will establish a positive attitude towards ICT implementation in their teaching practice, exploiting technology means to change from a teacher-centred, individualistic teaching model to a more student - centred ,cooperative and creative model. For example, they will attempt to make the most of the e-learning platform moodle, already installed in the school’s site, to create a digital bank of various digital educational materials in different subjects, so that school’s students, facing learning difficulties in these subjects, can practise and improve. Such practices can relieve students that cannot afford to pay for such material and support, especially through the current hard economic crisis. The impact we hope the plan will bear on our target group, our students, is that they will benefit from the acquaintance with open learning environments, will have interesting interactive digital educational material at their disposal, and the perspective to love and appreciate school again, the traditional and old-fashioned ways of which, has discouraged and alienated them from learning.
