PROJECT
FINISHED
The students of Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych in Krzywiń (ZSP) are the beneficiaries of „Through practice to your own company” project. The students of Zasadnicza Szkoła Zawodowa (vocational school), which is a part of ZSP, are the participants in the project. “The Education & Craft” Foundation from Paderborn, Germany is the hosting partner.
Our school is situated in Krzywin commune, Kościan district. Students learning in our school come from areas which are small, mainly rural and distant from large educational and cultural centers . The commune has a rural character (fields make 74%of the area). However, it is dominated by low-acreage farms. Their owners often join work on the farms with small manufacturing, trade and services. There are big state-owned agricultural companies which employ e.g. mechanics and operators of agricultural machinery and equipment or car mechanics. The region is threatened with unemployment.
15 students who have never been abroad and who do not have opportunities to use other forms of education than the ones provided by our school will take part in the project. Moreover, they are ambitious and skilled people who develop their vocational abilities within the framework provided by the municipality. They have many ideas for their future. They are also planning to develop our region by starting their own companies and by employing people who are at risk of unemployment. The most important aims of the project:
- development of vocational skills;
- attractiveness of education;
- adjustment to work in multinational team;
- better motivation to learn foreign languages;
- better adaptability;
- possession of EUROPASS – Mobility, confirmation of possessed skills and better start in a given profession.
“The Education & Craft” Foundation provides vocational practice in for our students. It will take place in workshops and companies with a higher standard than the one provided by our national companies and it will show other, new possibilities of work in particular occupations. The possibility of providing work in particular jobs according to the vocational training is very beneficial. In 2016 we would like to send to Germany students learning in various professions.
Taking part in the project will form entrepreneurship. It will motivate the students to develop qualification and will increase their chances of employment. It will support the graduates in establishing their own companies, will prepare them to actively taking part in economic life and will teach them how to look for job actively and will deepen their knowledge of market economy. In our region 35% of the unemployed are graduates of vocational schools, who are not able to find themselves in the job market. We believe that stay in Germany can change that situation.
The previous, finished projects proved that the students taking part in them become more open for new forms of vocational education, gain new experience which in our society is impossible to get. They fight their complexes and learn how to cooperate within international groups. The project motivates the students to star t their own companies (we have such examples) and enhances creation of posts for them and for others.
The project will be a good way of promoting both our school and the municipality. We expect increased interest in learning at our school which will give the teachers permanent jobs.
We are planning a three-week training of our students in “The Education & Craft” Foundation in Paderborn. We are planning to use the period preceding the training to reliably prepare students to the visit in Germany.
