The project entitled “Experience for success. European internship – a multirateral chance for a Polish student" was designed to meet the requirements of work placement for students of Niepubliczne Technikum Zawodowe in Busko Zdrój ZDZ in Kielce (2nd form). A work placement is an integral part of the learning process. Work placement abroad doubtlessly increases the effectiveness and attractiveness of studies. The participants of the project were the students of the 2nd form studying at course ‘Hotel Industry Specialist’. Planned number of students depended on the number of students studying at the aforementioned course, therefore there was one group of participants of course: 'Hotel Industry Specialist' – 10 students. The programme of the placement was developed on the basis of two Ministry of Education curricula: 422402/7.02.2012 – for 'Hotel Industry Specialist'. The programme of the placement was developed in cooperation with business owners of this trade and it takes into account their business experience. The participating students were selected on the basis of their suitability for the placement. The internship is designed to be an inspiration and an opportunity to gain knowledge and work experience in an European environment. It was especially important for our students from rural areas and low-income families as it was an opportunity to improve their educational chances. The project met the educational needs of our students. It allowed the students to gain work experience in an environment of European business, in different cultural and linguistic setting. The project raised the entrepreneurship and mobility of the students and improved their competitiveness on the global job market. Aside from the work experience, the project entailed also language and cultural training. This allowed the students to improve their language skills and learn about the culture of the hosting country. The language and cultural training took place in both home school and during the internship in Spain. The main goals of the project: • work placement and work experience for the project participants, • gaining additional business skills, • improving communication skills in a foreign language, especially business language, • raising interpersonal and communication skills of the participants. The main results (benefits from the project): 1. Obtaining Europass Mobility certificate that confirms the work experience – this will be later used in their CVs, 2. Completion of compulsory work placement required in the 3rd form curriculum. Other expected outcomes include: 1. Gaining work experience (skills and competences described in the project programme), 2. Increase in mobility of the participants and their prospects on the local, nationwide and global job market, 3. Increase in entrepreneurship, team working, independence, maturity, ability to cooperate, tolerance of the participants, 4. Enhancing English and Spanish skills of the participants, 5. Learning about and living in culturally different environment, 6. Increase in quality and attractiveness of education in our school; it was used in advertising campaign, 7. Experience for school staff in writing projects, organising internships and cooperation with partners. The date for the placement: 20.04.2015 r. - 15.05.2015 r. The placement took place in Valencia in Spain. Hosting organization - "Europa : Movilidad Estudiantil" in Pedreguer. The hosting organization was responsible for logistic support of the placement (a brief description of activity): securing the work placement, teacher support during the internship, board and lodging, airport transfer, language courses, cultural training and leisure activities. The hosting organisation also participated in monitoring, certification and evaluation of the placement, similar to the sending organization.
