„Przekraczanie granic – praktyki zawodowe dla uczniów szkół specjalnych” („Crossing borders – apprenticeships for special educational school students”) implies mobility of 36 students from Poland to Germany in order to participate in vocational internships at training facility of IB Berlin-Brandenburg in Frankfurt am Oder.Students of Special Vocational Schools will participate in the project. At Special Vocational Schools they are trained in order to become cooks, hotel service supportive staff and dry-building and installation works assemblers. Thanks to the project participants will gain new vocational and social competences, which will contribute to ongoing decrease of negative effects of socio-intellectual inequalities that mentally challenged students are facing. International experience gained during the internship will encourage participants to undertake new challenges. One of the project goals is to unleash the will to continue further education, broaden horizons and encourage participants to maintain a proactive attitude. In order to increase the quality of Polish vocational education system it is necessary to extend educational offer for youth, find new solutions and develop skills and professional competences of educational personnel.Students will participate in preparatory programme which will aim to develop basic German language competeneces, get basic knowledge about Germany and the region of the project. Moreover, thanks to participation in the preparatory programme, their motivation will increase.Mentally challenged students require individual approach and practical aspects of the vocational education extended to the maximum. Thus, they will be accompanied by experienced instructors whom work with likewise German youth.At the end of the project participants will receive certificates and Europass Mobility documents.Project partners are Internationaler Bund Polska, IB Berlin-Brandenburg gGmbH, Betrieb Brandenburg Südost. Participants of the internship programme were recruited at Special Vocational School No 30 and No 31 in Krakow.
