30 students from Zespół Szkół Nr 2 (School Complex number 2) in Szczecin (Poland) will take part in a four-week apprenticeship in certain business entities in the city of Leipzig. The participants will get to know the structure and organisation of a hotel, gastronomic establishment and tourist trade. The participants will acquire knowledge and skills regarding individual and group tourist service. They will learn how to deal with participants of music events, sports events, congresses, competitions, and music festivals. They will also visit stands at Leipzig fairs. The students will learn about the logistics of servicing big tourist and hotel groups. They will be taught about the German cuisine, how to manage a hotel, how to market and advertise hotel services. Furthermore, the students will be able to practice their communication skills, solving problems skills and they will learn how to deal with difficult situations. They will be getting support from German workers. The students’ foreign language i.e. German with focus on tourism and hotel vocabulary will be practiced. They will obtain certificates confirming the skills acquired by them. The project’s applicant together with a host partner Europa Haus Association will gain experience which will be transferred to the home country and put into practice in a school program of vocational training and promoting various forms of touristic trade. The German partner will acknowledge and certify the apprenticeship. Evaluation and monitoring of the apprenticeship will be performed by the School’s Headmaster, Bogusław Krzysztof Nowak, groups’ tutors, managers of German business entities and representatives of the coordinator. The results of the apprenticeship will be presented in the local press, on a school website and inter-school meetings organised in Szczecin. The project’s applicant will prepare the documents and will file in accordance with the regulations in force for issuing the document “Europass Mobility” to the participants.
