Information and Communication Technologies have been changing the way to produce goods and service throughout the last 25 years and knowledge has become the most important skill to guarantee a sustainable development. In this sense, The European Union set a new strategic goal in Lisbon (2000): "to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion". European Union countries need to develop new vocational training policies in order to achieve this goal. Nowadays, because of the speed of technological changes, knowledge and skills will soon become obsolete producing the necessity of lifelong learning and creating new strategies in the vocational training field. Now the stress of new strategies is on learning more than on teaching, in what you can do more than in what you have studied. Consequently, new approaches in vocational training are focusing on competences. In this new approach, some interesting experiences are being developed in Europe. The main aim of this learning partnership is to share the best practice in providing competences to the workforces. Projects are running in order to improve vocational training programmes and to develop strategies together other Leonardo da Vinci programmes in the future.
