Service Civil International – Deutscher Zweig e.V., the international volunteer organisation dedicated to promoting a culture of peace, is hosting two volunteers from Russia and Serbia in a 12 month European Voluntary Service project in the frame of the programme Erasmus+. The project is taking place in Bonn in the headquarters of the German branch of SCI. The volunteers will get acquainted with the work of an international organisation and will get diverse learning and qualification opportunities. The fields of work of the volunteers are counseling and placements of interested volunteers for workcamps, support of the planning, preparation and implementation of trainings, public relation, leading of a workcamp. The volunteers can also, depending on their interests and abilities, get involved in the preparation and implementation of individual projects in the international climate campaign „Create a Climate for Peace“ of the SCI network. The concrete working tasks will be discussed and agreed upon after the arrival of the volunteers. The volunteers will be part of our office team. They will also work together with staff and activists of the other SCI branches and partners. The working languages will be English and German. The volunteers will support the work for peace of SCI. They will experience diverse ways of personal growth and be enabled to develop their own skills and abilities. It will be done in all mentioned working tasks through personal commitment, self-reliance, creativity, own project management and with the support of staff and activists. SCI is expecting the volunteers to able to work in a team and reflect about the own work. After the end of the service we expect the volunteers to be willing to get active and involved in activities of their sending organisations or in other civil society organisations in order to multiply their experiences in the local community of their home country. As the volunteers will be actively involved in the climate campaign we expect them to reflect upon their own way of living and to multiply the ideas of the sustainable lifestyle. We expect to further develop our cooperation with the sending partners through this programme.
