Promoting excellence in service provision at the NCFHE (NCFHE-EXCEL) revolves around a concept of addressing identified training needs of the National Commission for Further and Higher Education with a focus on skills and competences in the areas of quality assurance, accreditation, recognition of qualifications, project administration and HR issues as well as research. The NCFHE is the Maltese regulator in the areas of further and higher education, with various international ties and participation in international projects to keep the country abreast of developments in the field. The aim is to increase staff expertise in the above mentioned areas of operation in order to further strengthen service provision in line with international standards. Given that the NCFHE is still in the process of growth and consolidation of its operations in the above-mentioned areas, this project will assist the entity in strengthening its capacity and service provision. Through job shadowing experiences and training courses participants will be in a position to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competences to fulfill their role in the best possible way and enhance the entity’s international relations, which will ensure the efficient and effective operation of quality assurance, accreditation, recognition and research on further and higher education along with strengthening the confidence in the entity's operations both nationally and internationally.
