Projekt Systém - vlastní zkušeností proti totalite
Start date: May 1, 2009,

Project "The System" is inspired by the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and is about delivering experience through a roleplaying drama. The aim of the project is to show to the participants the standart of living in a totalitarian state, because young people nowadays can hardly imagine something like this. That´s why we chose the method of a roleplaying drama. The participants can easily identify themselves with feelings and motivations of people living in totality. We don´t want to submit any dogma or already made judgements, we want to support critical thinking about themes such as transition from democracy to totality, lost of personal freedom, twisting history. We want to set up an open discusion about these themes and awake some interest of young people in current political events in the society. The six-month project consists of two public-open discussions, two weekend workshops for public and one weekend workshop for high school or university students. There will be in total 90 workshop participants (30 for each workshop) and the event will take place on the outskirts of Brno. The workshop for school students is going to be a pilot workshop. We want to continue with this workshop as a part of an educational plan for school subjects like civics, history and media. Workshops are suitable for high school students or univerzity students of philosofical faculty and faculty of education.
