PROJECT
FINISHED
The project PROGRESSplus is born as a natural continuation of the previous positive experiences of projects PROGRESS made by Xena from 2011 to 2013, and from the evaluation meeting of 2014, funded by the program Youth in Action. In deciding to resubmit the project we have considered the positive feedback received by the participants, by the partnerships and by the Italian National Agency for the previous courses. Added to this is the desire to promote good practices of mentoring between the new accredited associations and between partners that have already been working for years within the framework of the European Voluntary Service, but who wish to improve the quality of the mentoring offered, adjusting (updating) it to the changes that can concern it in the new program Erasmus+ . The courses Progress made have allowed, thanks to the experience and the suggestions collected during the evaluation, to improve the training offer of the course, appropriate to the specific needs of the participants. As for the other trainings Progress, the general aim is to help the mentors SVE to build his/her own role offering to the volunteer a quality support. The target group is that of mentors and former EVS volunteers, especially those at the beginning of their experience, but without excluding the benefits of a heterogeneous group, consisting (made up) of mentors with different experiences to compare. The participants will learn knowledge and they will build useful competences to the mentoring, developing their own style and their own strategies. They will acquire a thorough knowledge of the context SVE (structure, priorities and objectives of the Erasmus program that affect the role of the mentor). They will acquire tools and methods, they will discuss about best practices in intercultural communication, of prevention and management of the conflict. They will also increase their sense of auto effectiveness and competence, learning to recognize their strengths and weaknesses. Participants will be confident with the tool of the Youthpass and with the concept of key competence: reflect and identify their own and create paths to help the volunteers to recognize and certify competencies.
The duration of the course will be 6 days (5 nights), while the duration of whole project will be of 5 months. The partnership is composed of 10 partner organizations from 8 different countries. The training will include 17 participants, 2 trainers and 2 volunteers of staff support that will help in the logistics, in in the linguistic facilitation and in the animation.
The place of the training will be the ecovillaggio Torri superiore (Ventimiglia, Italy), adding to the value project, promoting sustainability.
