The bilingual department of LVO Weert continually wants to improve their quality and way of innovating on behalf of the students. Therefore all TTO-teachers should develop themselves constantly in language skills, CLIL and International Orientation. That's why 15 TTO-teachers from Weert will take part in job-shadowing at an English school and they will visit the SSAT conference in Manchester. There, they will learn new ways of working, they will improve their language competence and they will rerecognise their own educational qualities. By seeing the innovative education developments at the conference, they will get inspired to renew their own lessons. Both job-shadowing and joining the SSAT conference will motivate them to lift their lessons in the Netherlands to a higher level.
By means of a sequence of meetings, the TTO-teachers will share their experiences with their colleagues, in order to keep the newly learnt teaching tools alive and in use. In workgroups we will share the CLIL-skills and develop them even further. We will use students questionnaires to test the TTO-teachers' quality of language skills.
Visiting a school in England, will give our TTO-teachers the possibility to set up international contacts in order to arrange common projects through e-Twinning, which hopefully will be followed by an exchange of students.
