Smalininkai School of Technology and Business (LT: Smalininkų technologijų ir verslo mokykla) is a national vocational education and training institution. The school was established in 1954. School is divided into three divisions: gymnasium, vocational training and special education. Pupils are able to achieve basic and secondary education – secondary school program had been accredited in 2008. The school has a licence to teach under the 26th primary vocational education and training program.
Youth unemployment is one of the biggest problems in Lithuania (it is up to 30%), resulting unemployment of each third young person. One of the reasons that employers often highlight is inadequate preparation for the labour market. The employers require that new employees would already have work experience and knowledge of work specifics. Therefore, practical education and skills and competences acquirement is becoming very essential.
Strategic goal of the school corresponds to Erasmus+ program main goal to increase opportunity for pupils to get internship, which would provide obtaining the required skills and lead to successful integration to the labour market.

The objectives of the project: to improve pupils’ professional, general and language skills.
Participants in the project: five pupils learning under automobiles mechanic learning program and five pupils learning under cook learning program. Participants will be the second and the third year pupils with high motivation and high academic evaluation. They will already have some theoretical and practical knowledge and skills. Two teachers will accompany participants.
The team of the project consists of four people who have high education and professional experience and skills in their occupation area.
The manager of the project (Principal of the school) – will be responsible for the coordination of the project activities, project implementation team supervision.
The accountant of the project (Senior accountant of the school) – will be responsible for project accounting activities; will provide documents for payment requests preparation.
The administrator of the project (Project manager of the school) – will be responsible for document preparation, communication and work with the partners, project participants selection process implementation, publishing the project, reports and payment requests preparation.
Practical training manager will perform the maintenance of the project. The whole team has long project implementation experience. Every year they improve qualification participating in various management and other topic trainings and projects.
High quality vocational education would reduce the school pupils dropouts number, enhance graduates employability and would promote social economical development of the region itself. The project is contributing to the implementation of social responsibility development provisions in the region development area in accordance with the strategy of Lithuanian regional policy and The EU Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning (EQF). This project will create conditions to prepare qualified employees to Lithuanian and European business enterprises.
