PROJECT
FINISHED
1. Context / background of the project:
In Slovenia every third family is a single-parent family. For this vulnerable target group we don't have no specialized educational institution, nor are there training programs with content, that would be designed and organizational adapted to the needs of single-parent families; their lifestyle and their life situation.
2. Objectives:
The aim of the project was to acquire core competencies for training of single-parent or knowledge to create innovative educational programs that will be substantively and organizationally adapted to the target group of single-parent families. The project seeks to empower singleparent, to make appropriate training for a better life, to influence the improvement of the quality of life and consequently achieve greater involvement single-parents in society. The project is based on the values of a dignified life for all, and builds on the achievements of raising target group of single-parents.
3. The number and profile of participants:
Within the project there were three learning mobilities, which were attended by one person. The person was in all three cases the same; female, aged 42-43 years; coach/coordinator. Professional qualifications for adult education has gained as a communication coach of Dale Carnegie training at Carnegie University, carried out their own educational programs and as a coordinator of a group of 19 companies with suitable organizational perspective. She belongs to a vulnerable target group of single-parents itself, she is extremely motivated for the acquisition and dissemination of acquired knowledge. For her as single-parent access to knowledge is limited too, so the program Erasmus+ is for the Participant valuable opportunity which enables her professional development.
4. A description of the activities (mobility):
They were carried out three learning mobility, of which two of them were the single-parent seminar. Both mobilities were carried out at an interval of one year. First at a partner organization KFB Dioezese Linz in Austria and the second one in the related German organization VAMV Niedersachsen. The third learning mobility has been job-shadowing in the Austrian organization OePA in Vienna and was held between the two seminars for single-parents. While visiting seminars enables the participant the direct experience and the acquisition of skills in the context of a structured seminar, job-shadowing allowed to compare between the various education programs in more single-parent organizations in Vienna and at the same time insight into the functioning of the Austrian organization OePA. Participant has gained a broader insight into the problems of single-parents life in Austria. On the experiences of partner organizations she identified educational contents, which can be appropriate for single parents in Slovenia. Participant did not attended originally planned seminar for heads of self-help groups, since the Austrian partner organization didn't implemented that program because of lack of interest. The participant acquired materials for heads of self-help groups in one of seminars for single-parent and studies materials independently. Execution of education for heads of self-help groups remain in the plan for the future.
5. Output
Implemented learning mobility has resulted in the acquisition of competences and qualifications for the organization and implementation of educational programs for single-parents. The project has created a new form of organization: Association of single parent families Slovenia as it turned out, that to achieve a selected target group of single parents it is more suitable as an organizational form of the applicant organization. Participant independently organize and carry out trainings for single parents. This training is based on the innovative manner and have a shape that is a complete novelty in Slovenia. This is a regular monthly meeting on Sunday morning (brunch), which consists of two parts - learning and socializing, while babysitting between is guaranteed. Output is a website with basic information and web page on the social network Facebook. Participant has also gained competence to conduct self-help groups, which operated from August 2014 to August 2016, and then at the request of the participants stoped with formal meetings, because it was no longer needed. Group members achieved empowerment for better integration and improved quality of life, so support of the group were no longer needed.
6. Expected long-term effects
New educational programs (single-parent educational brunches) and the activities of the Association of single parent families Slovenia will take place in the future, so we expect the impact on the better involvement of single parent families in Slovenia.
