Preventing initial VET dropouts and fostering trainees' inclusion
Europa 2020 agenda ambitions focus that policies shall contribute to reduce early leavers from education and training up to 10% in order to assure the conditions for the desirable economic development (economic growth in Europe and higher levels of competitiveness’ of European companies). The actual average rate stills at 13,5% and there is an urgent need of promoting effective strategies enabling an holist approach to this problem. VET systems need to be more attractive in order to reduce the number of early leavers and thus the number of young adults low qualified.INVET project aims to contribute to this priority by promoting the development of a toolkit addressing iVET Managers, Trainers, Tutors/Counsellors. The toolkit will be available at an online training and resource center (including networking features) that will allow it users to develop skills to detect at an earlier stage trainees at risk of dropping out the VET system and to design and implement suitable strategies to deal with this phenomenon in their daily training sessionsINVET aims to impact positively in the VET systems of the involve partners countries by promoting effective tools to improve attractiveness of iVET offers and by that way reinforce its goal of contributing to the overall economic development by providing labour market with young adults qualified. The consortium gathers 7 partners from 5 different countries well experienced and high interested in this area, namely VET providers, and VET providers associations, that will work together in the developing of a toolkit to prevent dropouts and foster trainees’ inclusion by adapting resources from 2 previous projects developed in the sector of education.
