They all have extensive teaching experience and knowledge in the field of education. The course is structured into nine training modules, each covering a different aspect of the issue of early school leaving. The various activities of the training course include: -Presenting information about the problem of Early School Leaving in their home countries (law, educational policy and system issues, evidence based policy-making reforms, sustainable investment and efficiency of education systems). -Getting acquainted with and discussing educational theories related to early school leaving: inclusion, exclusion, integration, students with disabilities and risky behavior. -Way s to identify students at risk. -Providing practical proposals on how to handle communication with students at risk; identifying the best ways to prevent communication difficulties which may lead to a student leaving school early; providing tools for effective management of conflict situations; offering suggestions on how to deal with students who are at risk of leaving school early, and suggestions on how to react to the first signs of absenteeism and ideas on how to prepare and carry out an effective conversation with young people and their parents and on the course to be taken after this conversation has taken place. - Innovative teaching methods and trends that foster the active involvement of all students in productive educational pathways. Assessment must be strongly related to assessment of the pupils' needs before they get engaged in a learning activity. This allows early identification of their possible difficulties and obstacles. Teachers must be acquainted with the modern forms of assessment, models and tools in order to be able to use them effectively in their school classes to achieve, among other educational objectives, the prevention of early school leaving. -Theoretical knowledge and practical skills for working with children with special educational needs. -Tasks and activities promoting understanding between students from different cultures and with different socio-economic status -Inspiring discussions on best practices and preventive measures. It will be recognized the need the school not to operate as a closed institution but to look for a dialogue with other institutions concerned with children. The knowledge and skills acquired during the training will help to use a coordinated approach between the different services and professionals not only at school but also at regional and national level to tackle early school leaving. All participants in the training activity will receive course materials in hard copy and electronic versions to be used in their direct work and presented to colleagues in their organizations. Thus they will enrich their experience getting acquainted with teaching methods require creative thinking.
