Press Goes Green
Start date: Jan 15, 2013,

The project “Press goes Green!” will gather 23 young reporters in Brussels in a 8 days' meeting for a partnership-building activity meant to involve participants in a working group that will identify the educational needs of young environmental reporters and will consequently develop projects and events to cater to these needs. Participants from all over Europe will identify first the educational needs of young environmental reporters based on the information gathered through a specific questionnaire prepared by EYP. Participants will meet with the stakeholders working on environmental issues (policy makers, NGOs and companies' representatives); they will attend workshops on reporting, communication strategies and fundraising activities applied to environmental topics; they will take part in non-formal education activities on teamwork and conflict resolution. Each day, participants will be asked to put in practice the information they received in order to shape a working plan for the implementation of future events that will improve other young environmental reporters’ skills. By the end of the meeting, participants will set up a specific working plan for the group, including training courses, seminars, conferences and field trips for young environmental reporters. The working group is expected to deliver at least one project by June 1st, 2013 YIA deadline. Participants will be free to decide the themes to be handled, the methodology to be used and the feasible activities to be held during the following events. EYP staff will mentor participants while they set up the working plan. EYP will have the role of both hosting and sending organisation.
