PROJECT

Practical experience and acquiring intercultural competencies for apprentices 2016
This was a project for apprentices in initial training for the vocational training program as Industrial Management Assistants and Management Assistants for Office Communication in the 2nd respectively 3rd year of apprenticeship. In 2016 5 Industrial Management Assistants and 2 Management Assistants for Office Communication were sent to Porto in Portugal for 4 weeks. The apprentices do their apprenticeship at the sites Munich, Regensburg and Warstein. The Infineon Technologies AG and the Infineon Technologies Shared Service Center, Unipessoal Lda. were involved within the stay abroad.
General goal of the project was the acquiring of intercultural competence, practice and deepening of the English language, deepening of knowledge in the field of accounting through info talks according to the defined training schedule and practical experience through “daily work”. Furthermore the team spirit between the apprentices was fostered.
The apprentices received a language course and a preparation workshop as a preparation for their stay abroad.
The project was a stay abroad during the apprenticeship. The stay was handled as a business trip, so the costs for flight, accommodation and insurance etc. were covered. The stay was organized for all
apprentices by the Manager of Vocational Training Germany in cooperation with colleagues in Porto.
As a global and international acting company we have the demand of international trained employees. Through the project our apprentices will gain necessary competencies for future projects in our company, e.g. intercultural understanding or very good language knowledge. With the project we expect to gain more national and international popularity as well as more marketing advantages.
