The Pool-Project: Practice and implementation of pedagogical concepts in different European countries, is a project run between FAIRbund e.V. acting as the sending organization and hosting partners in the following countries: Italy, Poland, France, UK, Austria and Finland.
The project participants have been educators, social pedagogues and others who work in this sector from all over Germany. The goal of the 1 week program was to give the project participants the chance of a professional exchange with other kindergartens or social organizations in Europe. The focus is especially on the professional exchange in regard to the inclusive educational work (for those experiencing educational disadvantages), the training of Educators and Interns, the individual guidance for children, realization of educational needs, getting to know larger concepts (the foster care system, working with disadvantaged students, Reggio-pedagogue, early childhood development) and the comparison of their own understandings with the understanding held in the other country on these concepts. The participants are selected on the basis of their letters of motivation for their participation in the project. Previously in 2011 and 2013 past projects have been applied for and were carried out as Pool-Projects. It was very successful and the need for understanding of topics like inclusion, Regio-pedagogique and early education is very high. This Pool-Project again helped workers within the sectors of education / social work to take part in these educational projects.
Within 2 years we planed to implement two- three exchanges in each country. A duration of one week is good and also a practical duration from the perspective of the companies. This time shall be seen as educational time by the employer. The 8-10 participants have been prepared before the travels with regards to intercultural communication, the project phases and general information on the project. The participants have been asked to commit to presenting and documenting the content they have learnt for colleagues and the interested public.
The participants did receive a certificate and a Europass documenting their educational stay.
