Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our Europe of tomorrow will depend on the youth of today. However, we are the ones who are in charge of the excellent tools enabling the shaping of those young and talented people. Emphasis should be put not only on their education and gaining experience but at the same time on making them realize what it means to be European with unlimited worldwide perspectives. This openness, together with the sense of self-value on the labour market coming from their growing experience, will give the young men a chance to achieve success. Nowadays the potential employee is required to have proper education, professional experience, a good knowledge of a foreign language as well as to be mobile and open. The school graduate is not always able to fulfill all the requirements, which can discourage and close them. Our project is to open the student and give them the possibility to reach the above mentioned competencies through gaining the essential knowledge and professional and language experience. The basic goal of the practical training abroad should be supporting education and professional improvement, but also enabling the students to practically use their knowledge, abilities and qualification. The students are educated to become: electronics and IT engineers, electricians and computer graphics. The practical training in companies is to provide the students with life-contact with the working environment as well as to give them the chance to improve their personal and professional education. It will also increase the employment possibilities and make the educational process more interesting. The training abroad will at the same time give the young people the chance to improve their knowledge of a foreign language, with the emphasis on its business level. That will enhance their professional perspectives. Their stay abroad will let them meet the European standards and the principles of good work management. During their training the students will confront their theoretical knowledge with practice of the highly developed countries. This will increase the skills they have acquired so far. The teachers taking part in the project will be able to observe and learn about the educational system in Ireland. They will be able to meet the modern teaching methods, learn about the new ways of organizing the practical part of the professional education. The teachers will also be able to see the ways educational problems are solved in other EU countries. All the new knowledge can be used in the future to better inspire the students in their constant development. Additionally, the visits abroad will be beneficial also for the teachers’ professional career – improving language skills, being part of new educational methods and meeting colleagues from the hosting country will create a whole new path of professional development not possible to achieve in our country. This opens up new prospects for the teachers and will play an important part in improving the quality of the education offered by the school. The target of taking part in the practical training abroad is to provide the future graduates with better chances for finding their first job. It can also support those graduates who plan to establish their own firms. Participating in the four-week training abroad will make the student more competitive on the labour market. The hosting companies abroad will gain new international experience in cooperating with a school educating in different professions. This will also raise the prestige of the company and help in promoting it on the Polish market. The implementation of the project will be an excellent way to promote interregional cooperation, to promote the school, encourage potential students and to promote our students on the regional labour market. Technikum nr 4 im. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie (the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Technical School) in Bytom, thanks to participating in this project, has the chance to raise its prestige, thus provide its present and potential students with the best educational and professional offer. The school can establish new contacts with foreign companies and educational centres. The process of language education will improve significantly and will become more attractive for the students. In this way the European labour market will become easier to reach for the students. There is one more crucial issue. Participating in the project will make our local educational and governmental authorities see not only the important tradition and history of our school. It will help our school to be seen as a great centre with excellent, modern and very attractive offer for the future. Our students taking part in Erasmus+ Programme refers to goals of Europe 2020 Stategy in the education area which is to reduce early school leaving. It will also promote European values in accordance with Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union such as respect of human dignity, freedom, democracy, tolerance, solidarity, aquality.
