The aim of this project is to create the possibility for the students of ZSTiO in Sandomierz to get an attractive internship placement which could guarantee access to modern technology for the future mechanics, construction and IT workers. The agricultural character of our district determines the specification of local companies and institutions. This is the main reason why our school has difficulties in finding suitable partners for local internships which could provide satisfying level of practical training as well as access to modern tools, equipment and software. We consider practical training as the most valuable part of vocational education and opportunity to gain indispensable knowledge and skills. Processing the project allows the school to develop and achieve the goals included in the Concept of School Development. The school workshops are not equipped well enough to meet expectations of modern labour market. That is another cause to look for solutions which could give a chance to provide our students with an innovative vocational education. Taking part in this project is an excellent way to reduce these problems. The trades of car mechanics, construction and IT workers are the ones of the fastest developing industry branches that generate the need for constant retrofitting the school workshops. Due to the abroad internships students will have access to the most modern tools, equipment and software which will be guaranteed in the contract. Scope and subject matter of the internship are agreed with the project partners and they fulfill the expectations of the vocational training curriculum. The additional advantage of this cooperation is possibility of using professional English in terms of the work placements and the basics of Italian. 48 students are going to take part in the project: 16 students from basic vocational school – fitting and finishing works in construction, 16 students from the Technical School of Building and Construction, 8 students from the Technical School for Mechanics – car mechanics and 8 IT students from Technical School of Information Technology. The assumption of the project is to organize 2-weeks internship for the students from the basic vocational and 4-weeks internships for technical students under the supervision of their employers and company staff. The quality of the form of the internship is guaranteed by the qualifications of the personnel employed in the companies as well as the equipment, installation and software provided and adjusted to the needs and aims described in the project. Italy has been chosen as the place of the internships as one of the most industrialized regions in the world. The choice of the country was dictated by highly developed automotive industry, IT section and services which influence the construction and where various investments are performed. Project objectives: 1. The students gain working experience at the initial stage of their vocational education. 2. Gifted and highly motivated students gain the opportunity for professional development and improvement of their communicative skills in English and Italian. 3. The prospect of employment of our graduates increases. They become competitive workers in the European and Polish labour market. 4. Vocational training in ZSTiO in Sandomierz becomes much more attractive offer. 5. The students improve their competence in the area of professional language. 6. Knowledge of the culture and traditions of the host country improves. Expected results of the project: 1. Improvement of professional skills which results the subject of the internship. 2. Every participant of the project gets Europass Mobility Certificate, ECVET and Europass Language Passport. 3. Rise of social competence in the area of: cooperation, dealing with conflicts, professional interactions, teamwork, responsibility and personal culture. 4. Development of cultural awareness and communicative skills. Travelling abroad is not only rewarding in terms of professional training or language skills. It is also a great opportunity for young people to become familiar with foreign culture, visiting monuments and the most interesting places in Emilia Romagna District, Italy. As the sending institution, we can provide promotion of the project and its outcomes in local community via the media and our website. Moreover, popularisation of the project will result in a concluding conference of sharing the experience from the internship that will be organized by the sending party. Its aim will be to invite the local employers and to inform about the occurrence and the knowledge possessed during the foreign practice. The participants will exchange opinions, reflections and comparisons according to technology and organisation solutions in the local companies and the work placements in Italy. Thus, we will summarize our participation in the Erasmus plus Program.
