PROJECT
FINISHED
The aim of this project is to create the possibility for the students of ZSTiO in Sandomierz to get internship placements which guarantee access to modern technologies in mechanics, construction and IT. Within project realization a selected group of teachers of vocational subjects will also have an opportunity to learn about methods and foreign educational system during job shadowing visit. The project is consistent with EU Growth Strategy Europe 2020 and educational policy of the świętokrzyskie voivodship, the town and school goals. The implementation of the project meets expectations of the local employers. They consider servicing modern technologies like: technical software, tools and devices or foreign languages as the most important assets of their future employees. The agricultural character of our district determines the specification of local companies and institutions. This is the main reason why our school has difficulties in finding suitable partners for local internships which could provide satisfying level of practical training.Technical resources available in the school workshops are not satisfying enough and they do not always meet modern equipment standards for professions we educate students in. Experienced partners from Spain and Portugal can provide access to modern software, IT systems, machines and diagnostic devices as well as modern solutions in renewable energy and energy saving construction. The teachers will have opportunity to get training and survey modern teaching and learning methods. Due to the participation in the project activities, teachers and students will learn another European language which enable them to communicate at the workplace. Learning new methods and solutions in Spain and Portugal as well as the culture and tradition would enhance qualifications, knowledge and make it more efficient for the participants to follow expectations of the European labour market. General goal of the project is to improve qualifications of the teachers and students and perfect quality of the practical training in ZSTiO. The scope of the internships fulfill the students and teachers’ needs, expectations of the vocational training curriculum and future employers’ preferences. The mobility program supports the project participants in developing their professional, language and social skills. Processing the project allows the school to achieve the goals included in the Concept of School Development 2016-2020. 64 students are going to take part in the project: 16 students from the basic vocational school – fitting and finishing works in construction, 16 students from the Technical School of Building and Construction, 16 students from the basic vocational school – car mechanics and Technical School for Mechanics , 16 IT students from Technical School of Information Technology and 10 teachers of vocational subjects. The assumption of the project is to organize for the students 2-weeks internship in a training centre in Spain, 3-weeks internships in companies in Portugal and 1-week job shadowing training for teachers. The quality of the internships is guaranteed by the qualifications of the personnel employed in the companies as well as the equipment, installation and software provided and adjusted to the aims described in the project. The placements in Spain and Portugal were chosen according to the offers provided by euroMind and euromob. They fulfill project objectives as well as complement school curriculum. They also allow to learn new technical solutions and different styles of work in a new cultural background.
