The main aim of the Project is to support students in improving their professional skills and in using knowledge, skills and qualifications. These actions will affect their professional development and increase their chances to get a good job in Poland and abroad. When they work abroad students gain new knowledge and gain new professional experience. When students go to work in Northern Ireland they will know norms and procedures used in European countries. It will have an influence on their mobility and will increase their sense of self-confidence as qualified workers.The skills and professional experience students will use on local and European work market. Students will know Irish and British cuisine, they will gain new contacts with perhaps future employers. Fully-qualified workers decrease unemployment in a region and increase the standards of service in culinary field. Zespół Szkół Spożywczych sees the problem of leasing school before its completing and a problem of unemployment among Young people. That is why the school carries out projects which aim at solving these problems and the solutions are part of the European Plan of School Development and are consistent with Strategy “Europe2020” and Strategy of Silesian Voivodeship 2020. Our students at the age of 17-20 are a target group of our two-year project. There will be two groups of students who will take part in a work placement in Northern Ireland. The first group will consist of 17 students – cooks from our technical school and two teachers. The second group will consist of 20 students – cooks from a technical and vocational school and two teachers. Participants of the project will be chosen in a recruitment process. Marks in vocational subjects, English will be taken into consideration. Preparing stage is a very important element of the project. Its aim is to prepare our students to participate in a one-month work placement. Students will participate in an English course, psychological workshop and vocational workshops. Our students will have their work placement in Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Students work traineeship will last for four weeks and they will stay with their Irish host families and work at Irish employers. On Saturdays students will participate in on-day trips to cultural or historical places organized by NW Academy.When we accomplish our project concerning students mobility not only the direct participants will benefit from it but the whole school community. Good Practices Day which is a new initiative in our school which was initiated during a project will serve as a tool to disseminate the results of the project. The initiative will enhance the integration of local school community including students and teachers from vocational schools in our town, employers, and local authorities. It will be a new tradition of constant meetings for vocational environment, local employers and local authorities. The results of the projects will be published on school internet website. The local media will be certainly interested in Good Practices Day.
