FINISHED
J. Groszkowski’s School Complex in Mielec is an applicant institution in Erasmus+ programme. Along with the German company Siegmungsburger Haus Werraquelle the school prepared the project “Vocational traineeship as a recipe for success” . The project begins on November 1, 2014 and ends on June 30, 2016. Within this project we would like to carry out such actions like preparation of the participants to their foreign work practice and their departure connected with the work in the enterprises in the middle of Germany – in hotels with restaurants and in automotive companies. Main aims of the programme respond to the principles of Erasmus+ programme and a strategy of development Europe 2020. They are: increase of mobility among the participants on the European educational and job market, prevention of premature ceasing of the learning process, development of multilingualism (in particular development of German language through the contact with co-workers and English thanks to the contact with foreign clients of the German companies) and also perfection of the key competences. These last ones are mainly connected with the usage of the Polish language and technology in learning foreign languages. Participants attend our school and they learn such lines of work like: hotel industry technician, feeding and gastronomical service technician and mechatronics technician. We propose 32 students and 4 caretakers from our school to take part in this project. Students are 16-20 years old. 2 groups of participants will go abroad (each consists of 16 students + 2 caretakers). In order to participate in this project they will have to take part in the choosing procedure and go over it with success. After this phase there will be a phase of preparation process. The students will have e.g. 30 additional classes connected with the language “Communication and German language” and 20 classes of the course “Making teams of 2 persons”. They will also prepare themselves for their departure alone, by participation in the online courses on the platform prepared by the European Commission. Thanks to the stay abroad and work practice in Thuringia, they will have the chance to develop themselves when it comes to linguistic, vocational and social skills. They will spend 28 days in Germany and will work there 160 hours. 1. In the enterprises hotel industry technicians will work on the floor: they will prepare the rooms for the guests, they will be responsible for cleaning them up, ventilating the rooms and making beds. When it comes to the work at the reception desk they will observe the work there, they will provide guests with information, they will also welcome them in hotel. Work in restaurant concerns laying the tables, bringing ordered food and cleaning the tables. Work in the kitchen assumes help in the preparation of the meals, preparing desserts, preparing drinks. They will also learn the occupational safety and health rules and keeping up the cleanliness in their place of work. 2. Feeding and gastronomical service technicians will prepare semi-products and ingredients for the meal. They will also follow the rules connected with the occupational safety and health in the kitchen, decoration of the dishes, plates, tables and restaurant. When it comes to the work in restaurant, the students will have to lay the tables, bring ordered dishes and clean up the tables. Work in the kitchen establishes cooking soups, preparing the meals, desserts and drinks. They will also learn the work under time pressure and they will keep their place of work clean. 3. Mechatronics technicians will follow the occupational safety and health rules and have their place of work clean. They will be also responsible for diagnosing the vehicles, machines, devices and mechatronics systems. They will also repair the vehicles, machines and mechatronics systems. Moreover the students will use the machines and other appliances at their place of work. They will also mount and turn on the mechatronics systems and devices.
All of the actions connected with the project will contribute to the increase of the practical competences of the participants and their value on the job market. It will also influence the development of economy and drop of the unemployment rate in the region. After their stay abroad there will be a phase devoted to summing up the project, analysing the results and publicising them.
