Praktyka i język obcy - technicy z Elbląga zbierają doświadczenie za granicą
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is called „Practice and a foreign language – technicians from Elbląg gain experience abroad.”. The project lasted from 1st September 2014 to 30th August 2016. We sent to Germany three groups 6 people each, 4 logistics technicians and 2 car technicians. The dates of monthly internships are as follows: 1) first group – 12 April 2015 – 9 May 2015 2) second group – 28 October – 24 November 2015 3) third group – 3 April 2016 – 30 April 2016 It was a two year project because our school wants to develop and introduce a long term cooperation. Our partner group consisted of: Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych in Elbląg, Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle our main German partner, Grotec Kfz-Service GmbH and Logistik Center Berka GmbH. All the mentioned companies are located in Turin in Germany. Our youth travelled in a hired bus. They were accompanied by a German speaking teacher from the school. The project was based on ECVET system – project partners discussed the most important issues during the preparation meeting with vice head teacher from Turin school and during the meeting with our German partner in the school. As part of the internship students improved their vocational and language skills as well as their general knowledge about Germany. The project fulfilled Erasmus + aims such as: 1) developing key competences (including IT competences) by interns which are compatible with labour market demands 2) improving quality and internationalisation of teaching and running vocational practice (by people responsible for them) 3) rising awareness of learning through the whole life what is aimed at modernisation of educational system and internships 4) developing skills such as entrepreneurship and multiliguality of the participants 5) developing relevant ratings with certificates which are based on teaching results. The project was also based on European Card in Favour Mobility Quality and Internship Quality Card. Before the internship students were thoroughly prepared (thanks to Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle, German teachers, vocational teachers, school guidance counsellor). In Germany students learnt how German companies work and they had the opportunity to compare work of Polish and German employees. Participants gained experience in: 1) work in German companies 2) accomplishing independence and responsibility for the tasks 3) gaining range of abilities connected with work in logistics and car companies 4) turning theoretical knowledge into practical activities 5) developing team work 6) establishing acquaintances with German employers and employees. Moreover the significance of our school in the region was risen. The quality of teaching is also better. Thanks to the project new students are willing to take part in internships. In the future we would like to develop international cooperation as a long term effect (to 2020). Thanks to the internship students will probably choose German in their A-level exams. After the internship students received Mobility Europass, a certificate with marks from Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle and some additional marks from vocation subjects and German. Moreover the participants worked out together with a vocational subject teacher Europass standard CV. Documents confirming that they have specific competences will be used as attachments to their applicant folder. After each group comes back there will be a project promotion and popularisation of the results.
