Praktycznie umiem wszystko-rozwój kompetencji zawodowych uczniów poprzez praktyki i staże zagraniczne w obszarach turystycznym, ochrony środowiska i chemicznym.

37 project participants were the second- and third-form students of Zespół Szkół Chemicznych in Bydgoszcz who, having graduated, will obtain the title of a qualified technician of tourism (10 students), a digital printing technician (5 students), a chemist analyst (15 students) and a photo technician (7 students). They served two-week internships in highly specialized educational centres in a varied field (covering courses in Zespół Szkół Chemicznych) in Italy, Spain and Germany. Participants were interested in gaining new vocational competences and open to international cooperation.
Before applying, the project goals and fields of training relevant for students, as well as the project principles, were discussed and set with partners, taking into consideration partners’ possibilities and the area of their activity.
While developing training programmes for particular courses, the programmes worked out in cooperation with local employers were taken into account (as well as the school curriculum). The participant were prepared for their stay in foreign countries in a pedagogic, cultural and linguistic way.
Implementing the training based on the specially designed programme (in accordance with the curriculum and developed in cooperation with the representatives of local labour market) in highly specialized units gave young people a great opportunity to verify their knowledge and vocational skills, as well as to acquire and to improve their key skills essential for functioning on Polish and European labour market. The experience obtained during international training was for young people a chance for changing their way of thinking and adopting an appropriate, resourceful attitude on the threshold of their professional career.
The mail aim of the project was to support international mobility of the students attending a vocational technical school, to support their professional development, to use their knowledge and skills in practice, as well as to raise the standard of vocational training.
While implementing the project, the participants used elements of transfer system for the outcomes of vocational education and training through standardizing the way of providing documentation of students’ individual outcomes of trainings within Erasmus+, as well as the ones implemented at school.
Thanks to the international trainings, participants got to know the procedures and standards of the European labour market, improved their language skills concerning English for specific purposes and increased their motivation to learn foreign languages. Therefore, they are better-prepared for performing professional tasks. The European dimension in vocational training was reinforced and students were encouraged to gain additional qualifications. International trainings sensitized the students to intercultural differences. Moreover, the participants increased their skills to adapt to a new environment of a different culture and language, developed their teamwork skills and their abilities to create their professional development paths.
Language skills concerning vocabulary for specific purposes will be the long-lasting project results. These skills and mobility will facilitate students’ job search on local, national and European labour market when they have graduated. The school international cooperation contributed to the increase of students’ and teachers’ vocational competences and to improve the quality of vocational training. Expanding intercultural competences, improved language skills and personal development contributed to the process of preparing for the local labour market an employee who is open to new challenges.
