PROJECT
FINISHED
This project was addressed to students of Vocational Training of the Instituto Politécnico Hermenegildo Lanz of Granada. In particular, the students’ specialties included Car bodywork, Automatic Electrical Installations and Microsystems and Networks.
The mobility was carried out in three different destinations: in Forlì (Italy), Berlin (Germany) and Cork (Ireland). The project was divided into two flows, one in the academic year 2014/2015 and the second in 2015/2016. Of the first flow, 9 students went to Germany and 6 to Italy, while of the second flow, 4 students went to Germany, 7 to Italy and 4 to Ireland.
The project was mainly divided into three different stages: preparation, monitoring and evaluation.
Before the period of mobility, the project’s participants were selected and preliminary meetings took place with the aim of informing the participants about all the issues regarding the mobility. A course of linguistic and cultural preparation was also organized.
The institute remained in contact with the partners all the time in order to elaborate a training program which suited the participant’s profile and to organize the logistics of the project.
During the mobility, continuous monitoring has been carried out, in which all the parties involved in the project have taken part including the institute and the teaching tutors, the tutors of the companies and the intermediary organizations.
Besides, the students have completed daily registers with tasks carried out in the company, thus facilitating the mobility evaluation. Monitoring has been reinforced by the accompanying teacher, who went to Germany with the students during the first and the last week of the mobility in the academic year 2014/2015.
After completion of the mobility, the participants have obtained a certificate issued by the companies and the institute has elaborated the Europass Mobility document. This activity has been officially recognized by the subject “Training at Companies”, which is a compulsory part of the syllabus. Therefore, after completing the mobility, students have received the relevant qualification of Technician.
Once the students went back to Spain, IESPHL carried out an evaluation of the stay with all the participants to assess the strong and weak points of the project.
The results have been disseminated through different means: local press for example in Forlì or in the local newspaper of Granada “El Ideal”. The project has also been published in the different websites of the partners. Students have also shared the results with other students of the institute.
With this project, the students could take advantage of the opportunity of enjoying a working experience abroad. This experience has increased their professional and linguistic competences. This practical experience and the added value of having done internships abroad, has improved the profile of the students, which increases their possibilities to access the labor market.
Furthermore, this project has allowed the institute to establish a cooperation network which will continue in future projects, offering quality education and greater possibilities for students.
