In the last few years, the school CPR San José is promoting the mobility of our Compulsory Secondary Education students in European programmes (KA2), with the main objectives of promoting the knowledge and comprehension of culture diversity and European languages and the value of that diversity, as well as helping our young people acquire the basic life-skills and competences necessary for their personal development, for future employment and for active European citizenship. Looking even further, the Management Team of CPR San José enlists in this mobility project so that our students of Intermmediate-Level Vocational Training develop their linguistic and communicative competences in a work environment, giving them the opportunity to carry out job training abroad, promoting in this way, aspects such as increasing the attractiveness of Vocational Training and the mobility for companies and individuals, facilitating students mobilities and supporting participants in training activities in the acquisition and use of knowledge and skills for their personal and professional development. In this context, the alliance between CPR San José and ADC College is born. ADC College is a professional development and language tuition organisation based in north-west London, which has been involved in vocational and professional training for more than 20 years. Accredited by the UK National Agency the British Council for excellence in English tuition, ADC College has long experience of successfully developing and executing international mobility programmes in partnership with educational institutions from all across Europe. The participants in this project will be 15 students from our Intermmediate-Level Vocational Training "Business Administration", who will travel to London in order to carry out job training in different companies, chosen by the partner organization, being the following the main administrative tasks to be performed by our students: • Dealing with post • Making sure that there is enough stationery • Answering the telephone and passing on calls • Reception duties such as greeting and looking after visitors • Typing and setting up documents such as letters and reports • Keeping computer records up to date • Filing documents • Using office equipment such as printers, photocopiers and fax machines • Managing staff appointments • Setting up meetings and taking minutes In addition, students will be monitorized by staff from ADC College and during the training period they will be in permanent contact with both the partner organization and the CPR San José, via e-mail, phone conversations and Skype. The partner organization will be also in charge of preparing participants for the work placement, giving them examples when necessary and helping them in every moment, as well as of planning a cultural programme and different activities for the weekend. This project will have an immediate and direct impact over students, promoting them to acquire not only an especialised knowledge, but also basic competences that will allow them to adapt themselves to labour markets changing demands and to improve their employability. Through this experience, participants will become aware of the importance of the foreign language for communicative aims. Finally, the benefits of this project will be the development of a European conscience on the students behalf, understanding the current globalization; an improvement of their linguistic and communicative competences in a work environment and being seen as a school opened to new methodologies, to a life-long learning and to give the opportunity to new challenges such as the ones this project involves.
