Practical Hairdressing course enabling students from City College Brighton and Hove to take part in a mobility to Kuben School Norway, building on an existing partnership with the school which bought students from Kuben to City College in 2015, with a second group planned to Brighton in 2016. Staff development and sharing of best practice in the areas of International mobility, student management and mediation and subject specific knowledge.Course Aims:To provide an opportunity for students to develop hairdressing skills enhancing their employability and career prospects. To experience of Norwegian culture and everyday life, to encourage students to learn a new language and raise awareness of the wider European project. To experience similarities and differences in English and Norwegian hairdressing technniques. To improve students personal abilities and self-esteem by living (semi) dependently in a new environment. To gain knowledge and share best practice relating to managing student attendance and mediation techniques.Profile of Participants:Selected will be from Level 3 Hairdressing course, students aged16-18 year from the Greater Brighton area. Students will have been studying at City College for 18 months having completed a Level 2 Hairdressing qualification the year before. They will have good commercial practical skills for cutting colouring and styling hair. A maximum of 6 students will participate in this activity.
