The Project Getting To Know European Gastronomy 2 was focused on establishing professional partnership between SOŠ a SOU obchodu a služeb Chrudim (sending organisation) and SOŠ obchodu a služieb, Prešov (receiving organisation). The aim of the project was to get new professional experience and improve practical skills in the field of gastronomy, to learn about local habits, to increase the pupils´motivation for study, also to improve the communication in a foreign language and to compare the use of new trends in gastronomy. This cooperation has brought new knowledge into personal and professional lives of pupils but also teachers. The project started in September 2014, the practical trainings were held from January 2015 to May 2016. In total, 19 students of branch cook and branch waiter participated in the project. Seven terms were held in the course of two years, all of them in the Slovak Republic (in Tatranská Lomnica and in Prešov). Professional educational training for students of full legal age – in total there were four terms for two students lasting 3 weeks. Professional educational training for students under the legal age – three terms lasting 2 weeks (for four students twice and for three students once) were held. The underage students were always accompanied by a professional tutor. The project implementation enabled the focused group to gain new professional knowledge and skills and at the same time to increase their employment at the European labour market.
