The project will enable the students of our school, pass a compulsory work placement abroad. Foreign internships will take place in the UK and Ireland and will be carried out in cooperation with our partners The IBD Partneship (UK) and Career Training Internships (IE).
The objectives of the project are to improve the quality of students' practical training, their expertise to enable them to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, to familiarize them with the working environment, working practices abroad and get work habits. The project will bring participants progress in English, allow them to become familiar with the new country, surroundings and to try out life abroad. Internships will strengthen the working skills of participants, their independence, self-confidence, flexibility, labor mobility and bring them certified practice in their field.
The project will enable the sending organization to establish and expand cooperation with foreign partners, to get in touch with foreign employers, gain new knowledge and transfer them into teaching. The project will allow us to bring the European dimension into vocational education.
The participants of the project are the 3rd year pupils of gastronomy, hotel and tourism and the first year pupils of follow-up study focused on gastronomy and business. Placements will occur depending on the background of the participants in operational and economic-administrative positions in hotels, travel agencies, information centers, cultural institutions and in administrative positions in companies and non-profit organizations.
Internships will take place in May 2015 and will last 4 weeks. They will be attended by 20 participants. 10 internships will take place in the UK and 10 in Ireland. The project will have two runs, and there will be one accompanying person in each run. Accompanying person will stay abroad for the first 2 weeks of internships.
The results of the project will be primarily in intangible form. Participants will gain new skills in their field as well as language, intercultural, social and personal competences. They will get quality practice that they will improve their future employability at home and abroad. The project will improve the quality of vocational education at school. Tangible outputs will be Europass Mobility and certificates from intermediary organizations, photographs from the placement and leisure and information and articles about the project in the media.
The project will have a positive impact on the employability of school leavers in the labor market. The labor market requires graduates with high quality training, knowledge of foreign languages and practice. Flexibility and labor mobility is also required. Project participants will meet these requirements. The project will improve the quality of teaching at our school in the coming years, will enable to connect learning with practice, build prestige and maintain long-term cooperation with foreign partners.
