The project „Learning through experience“ is created to fulfill the contents of its title: to learn through experiences. It is designed for teachers of the Secondary Vocational School of Business and Enterprise in Prešov, which focuses on developing entrepreneurial thinking in economic and artistic fields of study. It will be attended by 9 people - teachers and persons responsible for the development of the study branches. The main activities of the project are: - Language courses, involving the teachers who teach not just English but also other subjects; - Special course "Management of rural tourism", designed for teachers of vocational subjects focused on tourism, art and business; - Dissemination of project outcomes for teachers, improvement of teaching process quality, and dissemination of gained knowledge to a wider public used for development of the region. The project aims to increase language competences of teachers attending courses, to improve their vocabulary for common communication and the ability to communicate in a specific field. The English teachers will achieve knowledge and experience with new creative methods in teaching foreign languages. They will be able to develop new methodologies and teaching materials. The participants of the training course "Management of rural tourism" will know the latest trends in rural development. They will get the information about the subjects which are involved into cooperation in the region. They will receive experience in creation of tourism products in the region, creating marketing strategies and forms of communication with the population. The course allows to trainees to acquire practical experience through innovative teaching practices that let the participants to be in a direct contact with successful experiences. Sistema Turismo s.r.l. is a project partner. The lectors in the fields of rural tourism are from the EARTH Academy in Potenza, regione Basilicata, in the south of Italy. The project represents a significant advance for participants and managers in the use of modern IC Technologies. Participants will liaise with colleagues within their school, school system and with foreign partners/schools through online platforms and networks that include people who have been on the same or similar courses. The project participants will develop educational materials and new methods for teaching foreign languages and vocational subjects; they will prepare discussions and presentation of the gained experience, cultural traditions and society of Great Britain and Italy. Teachers will discuss about the curriculum innovation in the fields of study focused on tourism. All participants in training courses will receive a document indicating the range of the course and its content. Implementation of this project will enhance the competitiveness of the school, the level of education and the credit of teachers, their motivation for lifelong learning.
